Are we okay this week?
The Kitchen Table is a household app for two people. One number tells you what is safe to spend this week, and bills and school pickups sit in the same list. No bank logins, ever.
These are App Store marketing screens with sample data. The Sunday text, reading a bill from a photo and forwarding a bill by email shown in them are not working yet; see "Coming next" below.
What it does
One answer, then it leaves you alone.
The number
Safe to spend
The first thing you see is what is safe to spend this week, already adjusted for the bills still coming, with a plain answer to "can I buy this": go ahead, check first or hold off.
The list
Bills and pickups together
The mortgage sits next to soccer practice sits next to whose night it is to do dishes. One list, tagged so you can see what is a bill and what is a pickup.
The split
Split it your way
One shared pot, straight 50/50, proportional to income, or a running tab. Switch whenever one of you gets a raise or an opinion.
Plans
Budgets and goals
Set your own budgets and savings goals and log purchases against them. No bank feed, so the numbers are yours.
Family
A Kids view
A calendar and a chore checklist with no dollar amounts anywhere, for the people in the house who do not need to see them.
Private
No bank connections
You type a bill in once and it repeats. Everything is stored on your device, nothing is sent to a bank, and there is a light and a dark theme.
Where it is today
What works now, and what's next.
The Kitchen Table is built and being prepared for the App Store. Today it is one device with two sample people; we say plainly what is not connected yet.
Working now
- The Week screen with the safe-to-spend number and a go-ahead status
- Bills and schedule items in one list; tap a bill to mark it paid and the numbers update
- Add a bill, log a paycheck, log a purchase or add a schedule item
- Self-set budgets and savings goals
- Four ways to split money, and a Settle screen
- A Kids view with a calendar and chores
- Light and dark themes; your changes save on the device and survive a restart
Coming next
- The Sunday text: one message at 8pm with what is due, what is landing and what is safe to spend
- Two phones in sync with real accounts, so your partner sees changes as you make them
- Reading a bill from a photo (today the photo step fills in a placeholder)
- A month calendar built from your real bills
